LifeStraw

For those that do not know, I am 1/4 Congolese (you probably first learned about the country in grammar school with its previous name 'Zaire') and I am always interested in ways to help developing nations. My sister came across this device and I had to share.

Aside from its ability to provide water for a family for up to 2 years (based on 20L of water consumption a day) the LifeStraw claims to remove 99.99% of waterborne bacteria, viruses, and parasites. If this actually works, I am a huge fan. If it doesn't, I am a fan of the intent and I hope they can perfect it soon.

Was anyone aware of sober day?

So according to FishbowlLA Sober Day was this past Saturday... Was anyone aware of this because I was not just so happened to celebrate accordingly (for the most part...) one G & T and one Grey Goose Cranberry doesn't really count.


At least I wasn't just drinking for the sake of drinking (i.e. something haneous like Nati Lite)

Sorry about the lack of posts. I graduated college, went to North Carolina, and started my new job as an Associate Producer on a video game all in the past few days so once my life has calmed a bit I'll be back.

On an unrelated note- I'm going to the Chicago Fire game this Saturday so hopefully I'll get some good pictures there to post!

I think it is so fun and unique. Imagine coming over to my house for a little dinner party, I make something fabulous that involves needing soy sauce dishes and chopsticks, and that is the set that is in front of you.

Digitalism

Last night I was introduced to Digitalism, a German duo with a sound that can be described as Electronica/Indie. Their latest release "Idealism" (released in May of 2007) has just made its way into my sound library, and just in time for the summer. I will definitely be jamming out to this album to get hyped up and to just enjoy a generally good mood- check it out!
